The designer re-imagines Nike's 'foremost apparel icon'.

According to sources, the Windrunner is Nike’s ‘foremost apparel icon’. To many a Tom, Dick and Harry, said piece could perhaps be haphazardly described simply as a rain mac, a waterproof hoodie or a training jacket, but Nike’s particular icon boasts a silhouette retained since the late 70’s.

Branding 2015 as the ‘Year of the Windrunner’, Nikelab today announces two impressive collaborations: one with Italian casuals label Stone Island, the second with sacai.

The latter initiates the fourth partnership between the sports heavyweight and the Japanese fashion label, and no doubt will inspire a similar brand of lust as the preceding collections.

Similarly to her previous endeavours, this time around designer Chitose Abe explores ideas of texture and movement, here remodelling the classic Windrunner, combing a faux fur hood and body with ripstop fabric.
