A school skirt for work and play.

Back when the end of August meant a good three hour walk around/try on/queue up session in the John Lewis school uniform department, pleated skirts were the devil’s work, an ill never only conceivable between the hours of 9 and 3.30.

Fast forward a decade (plus) and August signifies the same as any other calendar month, while pleated skirts make for a respectable outfit choice.

Found at Matchesfashion.com, this YMC ‘Pippa’ titled version is a joy; perfect length, savoury colour and lined with a wool outer, it boasts the properties that allow women to just about forgo tights for a month or so longer: trainers and transparent-by-age tees make are preferred additions.
