Playsuits in 2015 get a bad rep: ten years ago they were the chosen all in one look (the alternative being a dress) of your cooler than thou mate; today more often than not they are the reserve of slightly naff hen parties on summer vacay.
Away from the (traditionally) floral brigade, that mate who first donned one is probably seeking out this Opening Ceremony number, in doing so reclaiming the adult romper and its respective attitude.
Part of Carol Lim and Humberto Leon’s SS15 offering – the one they presented last year as a play by Jonah Hill and Spike Jonze – the jumpsuit riffs on faded 80’s prints, the effect being a thoroughly contemporary piece of beach appropriate daywear. Or nightwear. Or all day every day do as you please wear. Kudos.
