Off-White has partnered with Pioneer DJ under the creative direction of Virgil Abloh for a limited edition controller.
Officially named the DDJ-1000-OW, the covetable controller remixes the format of club-standard DJ essentials: the CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2. In cool, matte white with black detailing, the DDJ-1000-OW boasts fluroscent orange panelling from Abloh's concept of "SOUND ENGINEERING".
Available exclusively at Selfridges, the controller dropped alongside an exclusive clothing collection from Pioneer’s first-ever fashion collaboration. Crafted in cotton canvas, the collection of t-shirts, hoodies and a coach jacket, inspired by the internal structure of a DJ controller, is marked with silk-screen printed graphics and fluorescent green ink.
"As with the skeleton CDJ and DJM I designed with Pioneer DJ, I wanted to take this opportunity to bring together technology and human interaction,” says Virgil Abloh. “And this time we took it one step further with “SOUND ENGINEERING” bringing together this medium that unites so many of us with a fashion element. Both music and fashion, in my opinion, are these intense forces that have the unique power to bring people together while letting you make your own statement all at the same time."
The DDJ-1000-OW will be available to buy from Selfridges. And the apparel collection is available from Off-White and Farfetch.com.
