BAPE has partnered with longtime collaborator Stadium Goods for a basketball-inspired capsule available exclusively on Farfetch. This capsule marks the second time the Tokyo-born streetwear label partnered with Stadium Goods, following a grey-coloured sell-out iteration of the BAPE STA sneaker in 2021. Renowned for its signature bold and daring designs rooted in Japanese streetwear and American sports and culture, BAPE is returning to its roots with an eleven-piece capsule inspired by legendary basketball players Kobe Bryant, Dennis Rodman and Michael Jordan.
The collegiate collection, titled ‘Varsity Blues’ draws on the 90s “model-off-duty” look with “player-off-court” inspired pieces. Playful and fresh, the collection features varsity jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweatpants and a BAPEX watch. The standout piece from the collection is a new iteration of the BAPE STA sneaker, crafted from supple scholastic blue leather with white laces and a yellow star-striking across the side of the shoe.
