Vans Returns To Its Roots With Luxury Label ‘OTW By Vans’

The eagerly anticipated collection from Van's premium line will be available throughout 2024.

Vans has revealed the latest offerings from its premium line ‘OTW by Vans’ (formerly Vault by Vans), coming together as an ode to skateboarding steeped in the brand’s rich history.

Founded in 1966, the Californian streetwear brand has continuously celebrated underground subculture, exploring the cross-over between art, design, music and lifestyle. In doing so, Vans has developed a generation-spanning appeal, lending its focus to product design and the breadth of experiences it can step into.

‘OTW’ which stands for ‘Off The Wall’, marks a new chapter, a forward-facing addition to the brand’s lookbook that equally honours its roots. The new collection revolves around earthy tones, guided by oversized fits that allow for free movement. Elsewhere, the garments reference Vans’ classic Checkerboard print, while experimenting with knitted textures across its footwear and nostalgia-drenched bomber jackets.

Perhaps the most notable signs of innovation lie within the Half Cab Reissue 33 Vibram, reimaging the brand’s classic silhouette through a specialised Vibram outsole and vulcanised bottom, upholding the model’s reputable durability and performance. Available in three mesh and suede colourways, the shoe offers a versatile aesthetic rocked by the brand’s newly announced ambassadors, including Efron Danzig, Eyedress, Hooz, Nati, Rowan Zorilla and Vegyn. An amalgamation of models, skateboarders and beyond, it’s a refreshing direction for the brand that asserts its multi-disciplinary approach.

Speaking on the launch, VP of Creative Direction Ian Ginzola states: “OTW by Vans is a frontier for progression, experiences and collaboration. The skateboarding mindset is core to Vans, and OTW enriches that spirit through a distinct perspective to propel culture forward.”

First announced last summer through a skate installation on the Seine during Paris Fashion Week Men’s, OTW pieces will be dropping across the year ahead. Photographed by Jack Bridgland, the latest collection extends the Vans storyline, strengthening itself as a go-to streetwear brand on a global scale.
