18 looks, a new appreciation for crushed velvet and an Alex Sainsbury lensed campaign: Resort 16 by Topshop Unique has arrived.
Translating the “eclectic uniform of a new generation”, the collection elevates the collective norms of a twentysomething’s wardrobe; light florals, long lengths, embroidered minis and Breton stripes all make a cameo.
Further inspired by Soho’s nocturnal culture, leather, lamé and faux fur constitute evening attire, while the real game changer status is claimed by the aforementioned velvet.
Showcased in baby pink and harsh black via party frocks, mini skirts and suits, the crushed texture will inevitably take you back to the late 90’s (a cliché, correct, but in the case of that suit, explored with credentials intact).
Styled by the brand’s Creative Director Kate Phelan, the line drops in November while bets are already on (somewhere, probably), for which piece Alexa Chung turns up in come the September SS16 show.
