As part of the festivities supporting the V&A’s current ‘Shoes: Pleasure and Pain’ exhibition (read the Clash review, here), tomorrow night the museum will co-host a talk titled ‘The Shoes: Clarks In Jamaica’ alongside the tagged brand partner.
A celebration of the book of the same name as much as it is an opportunity to show off your latest Desert boots, the evening sees author Al Fingers in conversation with professor Paul Gilroy, Jamaican record producer Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee and Lance Clark, sixth generation shoemaker of the aforementioned dynasty.
Held in the Lydia and Manfred Gorve Lecture Theatre (for ample back to school vibes), the night will culminate in a DJ set (‘Clarks tunes’ only) from Fingers, while signed copies of the book will also be available to purchase on the night.
