The North Face Explore Community and Belonging In Their Latest Film Starring Amira Patel

A journey through the Himalayas with the founder of adventure group, The Wanderlust Women.

‘A question I often ask myself is: where do I belong’?

Echoing the opening lines of The North Face’s latest film ‘BELONGING’, the brand illustrates Amira Patel’s journey through the Himalayas. A means to inner peace, self-understanding and connecting with her identity, Patel is joined by an all-female team who support her through the trip’s challenging conditions, concluding with a sense of empowerment and overcoming.

Founder of The Wanderlust Women, an adventure group for Muslim women to venture into the outdoors, Patel prioritises the safety and confidence of her community. A project birthed from times of turmoil, the hiker found solace in climbing England’s highest peak and has continued to spread her message through a series of adventures. Celebrating culture, heritage and nature, the group will organise trips to Bali, Azerbaijan, Kashmir, Ladakh and more over the upcoming summer season. Speaking on The Wanderlust Women, Patel reflects “Giving underrepresented communities opportunities has been the most beautiful part of my journey.”

With an objective to never stop exploring, The North Face has become the world’s leading outdoor brand since coming to the fore in 1966. Merging forces with those who find strength in stepping outside of their comfort zone, ‘BELONGING’ encourages viewers to take a leap of faith, upholding the process of growth through challenge.
