Tekla Delivers Ultimate Comfort For Autumn With Birkenstock

Tekla has unveiled a new collection that looks to be its cosiest to date. The Copenhagen lifestyle and homeware brand has collaborated with German heritage footwear brand Birkenstock for a capsule rooted in fine craftsmanship, gentle aesthetics and comfort above all.

The collection marks Birkenstock’s first venture into clothing design with a range of sleepwear crafted from Tekla’s signature cotton poplin for maximum comfort. Kaftans, elongated long-sleeved shirts, pants and shorts have all been designed with an oversized, unisex fit and debut three new colourways: monochrome slate, mauve stripes and wheat stripes. 

Of course, no Birkenstock collaboration would be set without new sandals and clogs. Birkenstock’s Nagoya slip-on clog and Uji sandal are reimagined through Tekla’s soft, minimalistic lens for this collection. The shoes feature elevated design details such as elongated straps on the shoes’ overlap fastening detail and hand stitching. Birkenstock’s signature cork footbed is blanketed in soft shearling with a smooth Nappa leather wrap on the heel.

“There is a natural synergy between BIRKENSTOCK and Tekla, with quality and craftsmanship central to what we do,” said Christoffer Lundman, Creative Lead at Tekla. “We wanted to explore this further with a collection that looks at the idea of rest as a form of inspiration.”

Tekla x Birkenstock will be available from Thursday 12th October exclusively at teklafabrics.com, 1774.com, matchesfashion.com, and at the Tekla Copenhagen retail store. The collection will be available globally at select retailers from October 17th.
