Swarovski Celebrates Disney100 With A Crystal Replica Of Cinderella’s Slipper

In support of Make-A-Wish.

As The Walt Disney Company commemorates its 100th anniversary, Swarovski is partnering with 100 Years of Wonder (Disney100) and Make-A-Wish to celebrate a century-long legacy of storytelling.

This collaboration is the latest iteration of an almost twenty-year partnership between Swarovski and Disney, and part of a wider initiative from Disney that invites a range of creatives from around the globe to collaborate on Disney-inspired pieces in support of Make-A-Wish.

Swarovski’s Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert, will contribute a replica of the bespoke solid crystal slipper created for Disney’s 2015 life action Cinderella. Crafted by 8 technicians over 150 hours at Swarovski headquarters in the Austrian Alps, the slipper consists of 221 facets and is made from solid Aurora Borealis crystal, showcasing Swarovski’s meticulous expertise and artistry.

“I am honoured to participate in this global celebration of creativity and emerging talent”, commented Giovanna Engelbert.

“What inspired me to recreate Cinderella’s iconic crystal slipper for Disney100 is the name of the charity and the idea of a wish” she continues. “And of course, the slipper is the most famous shoe in the world. It is transformative and full of magic, so it was the perfect way to unite the world of Swarovski with the world of Disney.”
