Stone Island Marina Visits SOLDIER At His London-Based Studio for the Latest SS24 Collection

A vacation-ready capsule that draws inspiration from 70s Californian surf.

Stone Island Marina has launched a brand new collection, stepping into the spring season with a nostalgic, nautical edge.

Pairing ’70s Californian surf with cotton knitwear and linens, the capsule welcomes London-via-Lagos creative visionary SOLDIER. Photographed by David Sims, the artist has built a buzz through his acrylic and mixed media canvas pieces, challenging international military organisations and institutional racism across his art. Elsewhere, SOLDIER expands his ventures alongside Olaolu Slawn and Onyedi Iriele as co-founders of skate collective Motherlan, which showcases a rich exploration of youth culture within the trio’s birthplace.

The Stone Island Marina collection embraces worn-in aesthetics, spotlighted across a raw linen blouson plated with pigmented resins which, in turn, create unique detailings through garment washing. With its detachable hood, the piece is a versatile, lightwear option for the warmer seasons, placing large logo stylings on the back. Elsewhere, Stone Island Marina expands its airbrush-sprayed designs, notably used across the relaxed-fit Boatneck sweater composed of hand-organic cotton.

Capturing SOLDIER in his London-based studio, Ferdinando Verderi’s artistic direction situates the collection in new spaces, making for a bold, vacation-ready addition to Stone Island’s catalogue.
