Simone Rocha’s new Mount Street shop has its own Instagram account; it has arrived.
Following the induction of Christopher Kane earlier this year – and Celine and Roksanda Ilincic in 2014 – the label, residing at number 93, is in good company.
A physical manifestation of Rocha’s contemporary-romantic aesthetic, the IRL space boasts white walls, chandeliers, a caged area and XXL taxidermy style glass cases; a ‘flower blob’ installation fills the window.
Highly personal, this latest project expands on prior interior erring efforts – read: popular installations and shop in shops at Dover Street Market, colette and IT Beijing Market – the new store explores areas similarly covered in Simone’s collections, specifically her Irish and Asian heritage, art and nature.
While exclusive trans-seasonal pieces will fill any space left from the traditional collections, a limited edition book is also lined up. Featuring work from Perry Ogden, Ross McDonnell and Louise Bourgeois alongside fresh commissions by the likes of Jacob Lillis, Eoin McLoughlin and Colin Dodgson, the title recognises and champions those who’ve influenced the designer’s work, making it the ultimate coffee table trophy.
