Irish designer Robyn Lynch has unveiled a second exclusive capsule collection for Browns. Following the success of her collection with Rapha last year, the Fashion East alum has developed another nostalgic sporting capsule – this time with heritage American sportswear brand Columbia.
Founded by Paul Lamfrom in 1938, Columbia has a reputation for strong, technical outerwear, sportswear and footwear – delving into performance equipment with campaign and ski gear, always maintaining a strong relationship with the outdoors.
For this collection, Robyn Lynch has evolved her sustainability practices, where the Rapha capsule transformed deadstock with upcycling, this collection sources conscious supplementary fabrics such as nylons made from ocean waste and other biodegradable fibres. The collection combines these materials with Columbia’s expertly deconstructed and reword pieces to create signature Robyn Lynch pieces – with 90s inspired knitwear and vests with nostalgic logos and stitched on patches.
Robyn worked with Spencer Young to create a short campaign video to accompany the collection, with a soundtrack composed by Northern Irish musician Or:la.
