The Great British High Street is on fire. Not literally (soz Boxpark), but figuratively its reign on the international market is somewhere up top. As your younger self might say, it rocks.
And this goes for menswear as much as womenswear. Similarly, for both crowds the desire to head up such a diverse offering is fierce. Enter River Island Redesign…
Notes the brand’s Menswear Buying Director, Fiona Firth: “The Autumn Winter 15 collection presents a redefined approach to menswear with a greater focus on high quality fabrics, premium cuts and finishes, all of which are key to a more luxurious aesthetic.”
With an ongoing hand in the, to date, high successful London Collections: Men showcase – River Island hooks up with the BFC each season to present Fash On/Film – as well as a strong River Island Design Forum line-up feat. Christopher Shannon, James Long and Joseph Turvey, it’s perhaps not a surprise that the brand has shaken-up its in-house product.
Translated to cloth the new spirit-of proposes sleek leather jackets, nostalgic turtlenecks, on point trouser shapes and a Gucci erring idea of romance, as per the semi-feminine faux fur coat. Elsewhere pinstripes, velvet and contemporary angular jacket shapes feature.
