PUMA Announces Sekou As Its Latest Brand Ambassador

The announcements arrives alongside a re-vamped Super Team shoe model, now available in ‘Fresh Mint’, ‘Blue Skies’ and ‘Team Regal Red.’

PUMA is hailing Leicester-born riser Sekou as its latest brand ambassador.

Echoing the PUMA’s values of confidence, courage and determination, the partnership welcomes the launch of the Super Team campaign. An OG model first conceived in 1982, the sportswear mainstay re-introduces the shoe through an exclusive range of colourways; ‘Fresh Mint’, ‘Blue Skies’ and ‘Team Regal Red.’ Making slight tweaks to the classic silhouette, Super Team offers a more narrow, adaptive and vibrant addition to the wardrobe, encouraging consumers to experiment with era-spanning styles and aesthetics. 

Photographed in a studio setting, Seko finds himself surrounded by instruments, sporting the nostalgic sneaker. Navigating between jazz and R&B with flecks of pop and soul, the songwriter holds a strong connection to his craft. At just 19 years old, the artist has graced the stages of Glastonbury Festival and this year’s BRIT Awards, approaching his performances with an honest, raw delivery and lyricism. Speaking to CLASH in 2023 as part of our Next Wave series, the vocalist shares: “It took me a while to understand who I wasn’t, but when it comes to performing I am a different person. I have so much confidence when I see people in front of me singing my song back.”

In turn, the two combine to channel a timeless, positive outlook on self-expression, materialising across the latest Super Team collection.
