An audience with Nicola Formichetti is the stuff of dreams, right? Lady Gaga’s former sartorial right hand, Renzo Rosso’s current partner in crime and the star attraction of Nicopanda, the label he founded in 2011.
Luckily for fans of the man (Instagram boasts 160k plus), the arrival of an ecommerce platform has proven the defining moment for a little vlogging practice; Zoella eat your heart out, yeah!
In the new short, above, the acclaimed stylist explains exactly what Nicopanda is (his alter ego), and why he was drawn to launch the respective clothing line (for you guys, obvs), plus a little about what else he’s been up to (in case this was a genuine introduction to the man tapped as one of the ‘the most influential creative forces working in fashion today’ by Business of Fashion in 2010).
With Nicopanda making its Fashion Week debut for SS16 in New York last month – a static presentation that offered an IRL look at the collection’s girly meets punk meets street inspired aesthetic; boys held flowers, girls faces were coated in glitter; silk partnered mesh – the label’s move to ecomm further confirms its place as an urgent part of the industry today.
