Are there too many denim brands in the world? Anika Islam doesn’t think so. With an artsy Tumblr page concerned with a combination of human flesh, texture and concrete – wakenstudio – painting a picture of purity, Islam’s label Wåven advocates a new simplicity within the market.
Just launched, Islam determines the label’s focus as design and attention to detail, “fit, fabric, quality and washes are our main priority,” she offers, “and we look to keep true to this.”
Producing both men’s and women’s styles with a Scandinavian edge (that minimal vibe feel familiar?), the contemporary denim pieces are accompanied by clean white shirts, printed tees and a selection of jackets inspired by modern classics.
