Mulberry and Paul Smith Release The ‘Antony’ Collection

Celebrating an iconic Mulberry silhouette.

Paul Smith and Mulberry, two brands synonymous with British style and heritage, have come together for their first-ever collaborative collection. The collection plays with elegant Mulberry styles and utilises Paul Smith’s joyful use of colour through a shared commitment to craftsmanship and British creativity.

Debuting on the runway at Paul Smith’s AW23 show in Paris earlier this year, the capsule centres on a number of reinterpretations of the iconic Mulberry ‘Antony’ bag reinterpreting the iconic silhouette in a variation of styles and colourways. The ‘Antony Clip’, a mini crossbody bag, and the ‘Antony Tote’, are two brand new iterations featured alongside new colourways of the classic style. Introduced as one of Mulberry’s most versatile designs as a compact messenger with the brand’s signature ‘Postman’s Lock’ fastening, the ‘Antony’ is a natural choice for a unisex collaboration.

Employing Paul Smith’s legendary use of stripes and colour against Mulberry’s subtle design and heritage styles, the capsule showcases elements of traditional craftsmanship and modern luxury in the details.

With a central focus on sustainability and ethical design practices, the capsule avails Mulberry’s ‘Made to Last’ ethos and Paul Smith’s ‘Path to Sustainability’ program, with each piece being crafted from carbon-neutral leather at Mulberry’s carbon-neutral factories in Somerset.

“Paul Smith and Mulberry were founded within a year of each other in the 1970s, so you could say our brands grew up and came of age together. I think that’s at least partly why we share such a similar approach to creativity and craft – that and our Britishness. Working together to ensure the collection was created in the UK was something we knew we wanted to do from the beginning, and the results speak for themselves.” – Sir Paul Smith.

“We’re delighted to be collaborating with Paul Smith on a collection that celebrates our shared values of creativity, craft and British heritage. Reflecting our Made to Last ethos and longstanding commitment to manufacturing in the UK, we are proud that every piece in the collection will be made at one of our two carbon-neutral Somerset factories.” – Thierry Andretta, Mulberry CEO.
