Echoing the success of its female counterpart Fashion East, MAN has been one of the most consistently hyped shows since the initiation of London Collections: Men in 2012 (likewise when menswear was a standalone day tagged onto the back of LFW).
“Properly delighted” by her new line-up, Lulu Kennedy’s SS17 selection looks set to be no different. Announced today, next month sees Charles Jeffrey’s LOVERBOY joined by newbies Feng Chen Wang and Per Götesson.
Following a Masters at the Royal College of Arts, Feng Chen Wang is the product of Beijing born designer Fengchen Wang. Set up in 2015, the label was one of 23 shortlisted for this year’s LVMH Prize, while Wang presented her AW16 ‘I Am a Man’ collection during NYFW.
Hailing from the Swedish town of Småland, Per Götesson is another RCA student – he graduates from the MA in menswear this June. “I like normal things because they are more valid socially than wearing abstract sculptures,” he notes of his aesthetic.
Meanwhile 10th June marks Jeffrey’s second stint with the Topman backed platform. Soon to be available from Dover Street Market and VFiles, the Scottish designer’s label is the cloth embodiment of the LOVERBOY party, as portrayed at his Fashion East debut last year.
