New frames from the eyewear powerhouse.

Sunglasses in winter, it’s a funny concept. The reserve of frequent flyers, fashion industry ‘types’, and those who venture out on a rare but fabulous morning when the cold collaborates with the sun, Autumn Winter frames have a wide audience but often a more select appeal.

For Linda Farrow’s AW14 collection, the label plays with proportion, colour techniques and accentuating details, exploring high-end materials to achieve the luxury for which it is known.

Thirteen new styles are introduced in the collection, plus eight optical choices, while colour fading fills the details quota, with faded and bleached colours alluding to sunrise and sunset; shades of storm, deep coral, oyster, shell, apricot and mink make for a subtle palette, the addition of black and white keeping things classic.

New ‘Superchunk’ frames – a follow up to last season’s exaggerated shapes – see acetate models thickened up to 9mm, while other styles are available in metal and snakeskin too. For the Anna Wintour in each of us.
