NIGO continues to dominate the music and fashion realms with yet another collaboration, this time with Levi’s®. The latest collection from the newly appointed artistic director of KENZO sees a collaboration between HUMAN MADE and Levi’s®.
Built on classic Levi’s® silhouettes with frequent nods to Japanese culture and design, the collection features two of HUMAN MADE’s favourite fits – the 1944 Levi’s® 501 Jeans and the Levi’s ® 506 Trucker Jacket. For this collection both pieces have been crafted in Japan, the 506 jacket in a pre-shrunk 15-ounce Japanese selvedge denim featuring an embroidered HUMAN MADE logo with the brand’s famous “Gears for futuristic teenagers” tagline alongside the Levi’s ® logo.
The collection explores the effortless cool of classic American denim with the intricacies and whimsy of Japanese streetwear. Developed in a Japanese artisan mill using traditional Levi’s® manufacturing techniques, each piece in the collection features HUMAN MADE co-branded shank buttons and delicate back pocket stitching, consistent with the original 501 ® jean from 1944.
A campaign from NIGO and shot in the historic Eukarukan Kabuki Theatre in Japan is a nod to Japanese culture and a celebration of Japanese heritage married with the modernity and minimalism and effortless cool of American style.
