French brand turns 80 with new customisation kits.

People celebrate an anniversary in many different ways, big party, romantic getaway, or in the case of Lacoste, a limited edition customising project. To celebrate 80 years the French brand have come up with a novel idea, creating 12 limited edition custom polo kits to be released each month throughout 2013.

Starting with a plain white shirt, each design will have an '80' shape across the front and come with the accompanying customising tools such as paints and iron on transfers; sewing, embroidery and flocking will all feature later in the year too. Available through the F-store via Facebook, there will be 12 copies of each edition made. Once they're gone, they're gone.

The first shirt is Tribute to René, in ode to the brand's founder René Lacoste. Shown above-alongside the Foiling Forever and Transfermation shirts-and below, it's a paint-by-numbers scene of Lacoste playing tennis.
