Selfridges makes moves on the retro market.

What do buyers do when they’ve had enough of the responsibilities and commitments that come with such a sought after position? In the case of ex-Selfridges full timer Natasha Advani, they up sticks to LA and work out a business venture with their former employer.

Having moved to the West Coast two years ago, this week sees the first of Advani’s efforts drop on the big yellow store’s shop floor, as N/A Vintage arrives in the contemporary space.

“It’s been a really interesting project for us,” confirms the brand’s Menswear Director Bosse Myhr, with whom the ex-buyer worked closely on the label: a specially curated line-up of vintage pieces, ranging from band tees to Hawaiian shirts.

“To have someone on the ground in LA,” he adds, “sourcing all these amazing pieces means we are going to be able to provide our customer with the best quality vintage edit.”

Sourcing from some of the world’s most renowned vintage collectors and sellers, the offering will no doubt put a dampener on that Stone Roses top you picked up on your last high street visit. Sorry about that.
