The Thai designer produces a heartfelt SS15 collection.
O Thongthai SS15

O Thongthai doesn’t do girly per se, statement is more the label’s thing, as last season’s ‘Original Gangster’ collection protested.

For Spring Summer 15 however, Thai jewellery designer O has been bitten by the love bug, producing a collection of hard metals smothered with rose coloured hearts bearing tags like ‘Dream Boy’ and ‘xxx’.

Describing metal as her choice material to Clash earlier this year, “because it’s opaque, hard and shiny,” here the texture’s tough qualities are reimagined for ‘Heart Me If You Dare’.

To accompany the collection, Thongthai teamed up once again with director Sean Frank, shooting ‘Hide N Seek’ again in her native Thailand, this time at an elephant sanctuary supported by the designer.

Styled by Matthew Josephs, the short film takes the viewer on a mini safari of sorts – half the animals are of the non-breathing variety – peering through binoculars and culminating in a ride one of the sanctuary’s own mammals.
