Gucci’s FW19 Campaign Is A Time Traveling Extravaganza

Prêt-À-Porter in full swing…

Gucci knows no bounds when it comes to campaigns, be it a celebration of Old Hollywood glamour, long haired pop stars cradling baby animals, or exploring ancient ruins in Pompeii with Harmony Korine, nothing is off limits. This season the Italian fashion house is taking us on a journey to the height of Prêt-À-Porter fashion, from the 50s to the 80s.

An accompanying campaign video transports us back some odd 30 years ago to a faux-fashion show in Paris. Lensed by house favourite, Glen Luchford, we witness the runway-ritual and backstage chaos first hand as models with apt bouffant hair are rushed into vintage inspired looks (all Gucci, of course) before they are met by an euphoric applause on the catwalk.
