Alessandro Michele’s Gucci has a rich ties to the music industry, with artists such as Jared Leto, Lana Del Ray and Florence Welch featuring frequently in his campaigns.
His latest endeavour, #GucciGig, celebrates the latest Gucci eyewear collection with a series of collaborative projects from twelve handpicked musicians from across the globe. Michele invited the chosen few to represent their personal experience of live performance through exclusive shoots, videos or artwork.
The twelve musicians include, Alex Cameron (in collaboration with Jemima Kirke and Jack Ladder); Yves Tumor (with Jordan Hemingway); Curtis Harding (with Matt Correia and John Zabawa); band Amyl and the Sniffers (with Jamie Wdziekonski); Cole Alexander of Black Lips and Crush (with Ariana Papademetropoulos); Lou Doillon; Jehnny Beth (with Johnny Hostile); Kikagaku Moyo (with Alessio Vitelli); Weyes Blood (with Taylor Giali); Populous (with Odd Arts), Connie Constance (with Sophie Jones and Morgan Benjamin) and Merry Lamb Lamb (with Somewhere Nowhere Studio).
The project launches alongside the debut of the Gucci Spotify channel, each musician from #GucciGig will create a playlist to coincide with the launch.
