Never one to shy away from a collaboration, Fred Perry have teamed up with Savile Row trained tailors and London-based art collective Art Comes First this season for a Jamaican inspired, 8-piece capsule.
Celebrated for their ability to fuse subcultures and style seamlessly, Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh of ACF were influenced by the Rocksteady, reggae and ska music culture for this collection.
On this occasion, looking to their favourite records and the sleeves they come in, "We’ve always been fascinated by record sleeves and how much creativity each artist puts into them”, going as far as to package the shirts in bespoke sleeves.
The collection sees the ACF duo reworking classic Fred Perry pieces in light of their travels to Jamaica.
“When it came to designing this collection with Fred Perry, we thought we would soundtrack what we are familiar with when we wear Fred Perry or when we see people wearing it”, they said.
The iconic embroidered Fred Perry shirt is reborn in black, regal-blue and island-green with 'FRED PERRY M12 CUSTOM-MADE WITH ART COMES FIRST' emblazoned across the back in bold lettering.
Another adaptation of the M12, a taped piqué shirt is available in black, fire-red and chrome yellow with sleeves trimmed in branded track tape and the designers’ original patch stitched just below the Laurel Wreath.
A pair of black braces with leather trims and an ACF adaptation of the Fred Perry Hughes high-top trainer in snow-white canvas with an ACF patch and five sets of coloured laces finish off the collection.
