A new interpretation of AW15.

Recently impressing with a SS16 #TBT inspired Black Line collection (see here), for its latest project Italian sportswear label Fila has tapped new British talent from the art world.

Marrying the work of grime-heavy photographer Vicky Grout with illustrator Kelesi Anim’s African inspired drawings, the brand this week debuts a new take on its (similarly vintage esc) AW15 line-up.

Solidifying Fila’s relationship with contemporary youth culture – Grout is just about still a teenager while Anim only graduated from LCF in 2012 – the four images, pictured above, apparently pay reference to the Afrocentricity the brand associated with in the 1990’s.

For an immediate audience they invite a renewed assessment of sportswear and the confines, particularly within presentation, we place on it today.
