Nothing royal about it.

The biggest news this week – in every industry, Twitter would like you to believe – was a woman wearing a blue and white polka dot Jenny Packham dress, outside a hospital in London with her husband and new baby son.

We shan’t go into royal dealings however. Instead this week we look at a marriage of music and fashion, one of designer and high street, and Fashion Scout’s Merit Award winner.

Yes, Gossip front woman Beth Ditto went public with her wedding album earlier this week (sort of). The actual date of her wedding to former assistant, Kristin Ogata is unknown, but on Tuesday a post on the band’s Facebook page stated ‘we are excited to share with you a pic or two from Beth and Kristin’s wedding!’.

While Kristin went for a white shorts suit, Beth walked down the aisle in a frock by Jean Paul Gaultier whom she once modelled for in 2010. Of the dress Ditto wrote, ‘a huge thank you to Jean Paul Gaultier for the dream-come-true-dress!’.

Next up, Debenhams latest Designers at…. name was released as Todd Lynn. Joining the likes of Henry Holland and Jonathan Saunders, Lynn will make his debut at the store in October.

His last foray on the catwalk – at London Fashion Week in February – saw models styled with septum piercings. His 12-piece collection for the department store however, could be an interesting departure from harsher themes.

Also this week, Yulia Kondrania was named the Fashion Scout Merit Award winner for SS14. Clash was present at her Fashion Scout debut – at the initiative’s One To Watch showcase in February – to see her floor length fringe dresses in the flesh.

A Central Saint Martins graduate, Yulia joins previous winners Phoebe English and Eudon Choi. She wins a fully sponsored catwalk show and exhibition space at London and Paris Fashion Weeks, plus £25,000 for her business.
