Another collaboration, another feud, and the British Fashion Council already has September planned out. The world’s a wonderful place but where would we be without Twitter? Given that much of the below was spread within minutes using no more than 140 characters, a few hours behind most likely.

Following collaborations with Carhartt, Nike and Vanessa Seward, the French brand A.P.C. earlier this week announced their partnership with Kanye West. Or rather West did via Twitter with a simple ‘Thank you Jean Touitou for letting me create with you’ and a link to his website, which simply displays the denim image above. On sale from Sunday (14th July), the range is set to feature a pair of jeans, a hoody and a T-shirt.
Writing on the A.P.C. Journal, Touitou, the brand’s founder, says ‘Over two years ago, a visitor to the A.P.C. studio was announced to me as “Kenny”. He wanted my advice on the fashion industry’. You can read the rest of Touitou’s message here.

Last October an exchange of words between New York Times writer Cathy Horyn and Saint Laurent’s then brand new designer Hedi Slimane spelled a media storm, with many parties supporting Horyn via their own disputes with the brand’s PR strategy. This week Style.com’s Tim Blanks has suffered a similar fate with Jean Paul Gaultier.
Following a review of Gaultier’s couture collection in which Blanks wrote, ‘a reminder that Gaultier was once considered the one true heir to the throne of French fashion. But that was once upon a time, and that time has, sad to say, well and truly passed.’ Gaultier retaliated via his Twitter page with a letter addressed ‘Dear Tim’. You can read it here.
