A new shoe inspired by Mother Nature.

“I always try to bring the relaxing features found in the forest and the knowledge of being a skateboarder into all of my design projects,” says architect by day, Element Advocate for life, Janne Saario.

Naturally the Fin’s birthplace carries a great number of lakes and forests within its borders, something the American brand for which he rides were keen to bring into the mix of their latest shoe release.

A member of the club defined as the Element Emerald Collection (which sees product use recyled rubber outer soles and hemp pressed insoles), the Catalina has qualities reminiscent of the classic deck shoe but maintains its skate credentials. An accompanying video sees the turquoise/camel mash-up in action (available to watch it here), highlighting too Saario’s working practice.
