Dior Hits The Beach With Hajime Sorayama

Beat the heat…

Japanese self-described ‘supper-realist’ and contemporary artist Hajime Sorayama returns to the house of Dior with the latest in beachwear and robotic pinups for an exclusive summer capsule collection.

The new collaboration with Dior Menswear Artistic Director Kim Jones recalls the retro-futurist Pre-Fall runway show, presided over by Sorayama’s very own 40-foot tall dino-fembot. The beachwear line centres on two distinct designs, ‘Seascape’ and ‘Hawaiian Robots’, with an array of robotic sirens and aquatic creatures splashing in crowded waters and lounging amongst exotic foliage.

Key pieces to look out for include a Hawaiian reimagining of the classic Dior Oblique sneakers and printed beach towels, alongside summer staples such as board shorts and t-shirts, with a selection of exclusive patterned leathergoods.
