Converse CONS and Carhartt WIP Debut Nostalgic Skate Collaboration For SS24

The collaboration marries technical design elements with the hazy tempo of 90s skate culture.

Converse CONS has unveiled a new collaboration with Carhartt WIP rooted in a persistent love for Southern California skate culture. The two brands first came together in 2017 to explore the synergy between the heritage streetwear giants. Merging the functionality and performance elements of both brands with unique design sensibilities that elevate traditional skatewear, each collaboration brings nostalgic skate culture to contemporary and technical footwear.

The Spring/Summer 2024 collaboration debuts two skate-ready styles revamped from the Converse archives and with a heavy emphasis on Carhartt WIP’s workwear style and durability for a duo of styles that are designed for hard-wearing skate sessions.

Debuting new iterations of the One Star Academy Pro and the Chuck Taylor All Star Pro, the drop references classic 90s skate shoes with tri-panels, suede uppers in brown, beige and cream as a nod to the Carhartt WIP archives, high rubber foxing above the soles for durability and lateral triple stitching as a nod to Carhartt WIP’s archetypal jackets and work pants. Both shoes feature co-branded logos on the tongue and CX foam sock liner.

The Chuck Taylor All Star Pro Hi is a key skateboarding fit, featuring lock-in elastic tongue straps, cushioning CX foam sock liners and a CONS Traction Rubber outsole for grip, board feel and flick support. The One Star Academy Pro references The Academy shoe, with a classic star and two-stripe logo and features improved board feel and impact cushioning thanks to its CX foam liner.

Photographer Adrian Rios and videographer Natas3000 gathered riders from the Carhartt WIP skate team including Ebou Sanyang, Eddie Cernicky, Marine Bourdais, Felipe Bartolomé, Leonis Foucan and Roman Gonzalez for the campaign.
