The desert boot gets made over.

As collaborations go, the partnership of Clarks Originals and Herschel Supply Co. sides with the more relevant variety: both brands were set up by brothers – Cyrus and James Clark for the former, Jamie and Lyndon Cormack the latter – and both produce products of a timeless nature (footwear and backpacks, respectively).

For AW14, the Cormack’s label has provided a new look to Clarks’ original desert boot, the simple lace up shoe with the cult following and already several redecorations to its name.

For their part, Herschel adopts a navy blue leather for the boot’s outer, adding the signature striped lining found in each of their bags to the inside of the shoe.

Admittedly it’s not a radical change – zero zips, studs or LED lights are present – but in removing the standard neural coloured suede (which the style is traditionally doused in), introduces a new character in the desert boot story.
