In the last 12 months Christopher Shannon’s label has been nominated for the inaugural BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Award, won the BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Award, presented two critically acclaimed menswear collections, made its womenswear debut, collaborated twice over with CAT footwear, and launched its first independent ecommerce platform.
Now it presents its second womenswear offering in the form of 13 pre-fall looks.
Marrying the ruffle focused vibes of SS15 with the Henry Bond inspired men’s AW15 collection, plus additional insight from so-called ‘real British women’ (presumably his nearest and dearest industry pals), the new collection paints a tougher picture than its predecessor.
Comprised of puffa jackets, tracksuit bottoms, silk frocks and denim skirts, the covetable range boasts a palette heavy in blue, black, red and white, while the predominant aesthetic aligns with streetwear.
Elsewhere Shannon’s collaboration with Judy Blame continues by way of the carrier bag as headwear motif first noted in January (referenced across knit fronts also); down south meanwhile, the designer’s CAT Colorado mash up fully realises the correlation between his menswear and womenswear proposals.
