American workwear giants Carhartt WIP have collaborated with the iconic Boston based sneaker brand Converse for a skate-inspired collaboration for SS22. A match made in board heaven, the collaboration builds on both brands’ roots in skate culture, with creative direction from Leo Vernhet and campaign imagery from various worldwide photographers.
The collaboration consists of two unique styles: the low-One Star Ox Pro and the mid-Fast Break Ox Pro, both combining fabrics such as suede, canvas and leather in a nod to classic Carhartt WIP designs. Designed with minimalism in mind, both shoes feature a debossed iteration of the Carhartt ‘C’ logo on the heel alongside subtle detailing on the tongue, sock liner and layered eyelets.
Calling back to the roots of Carhartt WIP and the practicality of the brand, the collaboration features a CONS traction rubber outsole and a CX foam insole for improved cushioning and a gum rubber toe bumper.
Two brands heavily immersed in skate culture, both Converse and Carhartt WIP have their own skate teams and have over the years have come to share several riders, including Roman Gonzalez, Felipe Bartolomé, Rémy Taveira and Sylvain Tognelli.
CONS x Carhartt WIP will be available from March 31st at Carhartt WIP stores, select retailers and carhartt-wip.com
