Bottega Veneta has unveiled their new women’s and men’s pre-spring 2020 campaign, lensed by Tyrone Lebon and starring model Jean Campbell and cult designer Andre Walker.
Drawing inspiration from Italian neo-realist cinema and the idea of ‘the cult of an icon; the campaign celebrates the new house code under creative director Daniel Lee with a series of high-low contrasts. A bare, un-retouched studio provides the backdrop to Campbell and Walker dressed in elegant, pieces, with a heavy focus on accessories and gold chains.
Lebon (the same Lebon of Frank Ocean's 'Nikes'), juxtaposes a muted set with a colour palette of smoked blue, pine green, caramel and black, providing a stark yet aspirational reality and achieving the tension of realism versus finesse. Lee said of the collection and campaign; “Bottega Veneta clothes are worn in context, mixed with real characters and live in the moment. They are elevated and everyday and that’s what makes them powerful.”
