BAPE Expands Its Collaborative Artists Collection With Joshua Vides

The New York based artist has designed a new collection of apparel and homeware.

BAPE has unveiled its latest artist collaboration with Guatemalan-American artist Joshua Vides. Renowned for his comic book style designs and pop cultural transformations, Vides is best known for his hand-drawn illustrations which he has maintained since breaking through art into streetwear and subcultural projects.

This limited edition collaboration with BAPE presents a range of streetwear essentials and homeware pieces that fuse Vides’ distinctive black and white line art with iconic BAPE graphics and pieces such as the BAPE CAMP, APE HEAD logo and BAPE ROAD STA sneaker. The full collection features range of BAPE apparel reinterpreted through Vides unique perspective including a green CAMO cap, collegiate t-shirts and the ROAD STA sneakers alongside homeware including a fluffy beads cushion, a rug, ashtray, plate, cup and a baby milo figure.

“High School Josh is pinching himself right now. I was one of the very few kids who not only knew what BAPE® was but actually owned a piece. If you would have shown me this collection then as a teenager with my name on everything I wouldn’t believe it. Only so many Artist’s receive the opportunity to collaborate with arguably one of the most influential brand’s of our generation. Proud is an understatement”. – Joshua Vides.

Through apparel and accessories, Vides presents reimagined takes of the vintage BAPE APE HEAD t-shirts and the coveted BAPE ROAD STA sneaker, with Vides’ signature black and white line work. An extremely limited run of 100 pairs of ROAD STA sneakers will be available in a custom wooden box which displays Vides’ own take on the famous BAPE CAMO print.

BAPE X JOSHUA VIDES will be available at A BATHING APE stores and from bape.com from Saturday, March 16th.
