ARK/8 Journeys To Post-Apocalyptic Los Angeles For Its Latest Collection

Welcome to HELL-A.

ARK/8 have unveiled the newest instalment of its premium gaming collection. This time based on the action role-playing video game ‘Dead Island 2’ – a sequel to the 2011 video game Dead Island and the third major instalment in the Dead Island series by Dambuster Studios – the brand journeys to post-apocalyptic Los Angeles for the ghoulish campaign.

Enamoured by the boundless realms of the video gaming world, ARK/8 has enlisted a team of creatives to build their zombie-ridden version of Los Angeles for the campaign. As with their previous collection for Elden Ring, the ARK/8 team have embraced the rich and expansive worldbuilding of Dead Island 2, with a plethora of iconic graphics and characters.

Starring Cyra Gwynth as the oblivious model, the campaign titled HELL-A captures the slow approach of two monstrous-looking zombies, culminating in a comically Tarantino-esque finale. With concept and art direction by Eliott Dragon, photography by Julia Dubois Rosca, and VFX by Luca Mastroianni, the campaign showcases meticulous detail and the lengths ARK/8 are willing to go to for each launch.

The collegiate collection has been designed specifically for the characters of the Dead Island 2 game, and by extension a general Gen Z audience. Exaggerated silhouettes are paired with muted grey denim and black cut-out and cropped pieces, while vividly coloured varsity pieces are stamped with bold college Bobcat badges, encapsulating the LA-influencer aesthetic. The brand’s signature expert craftsmanship can be found in the fine embroidered sweatshirts and meticulously placed palm prints, showcasing the brand’s dedication to detailing and responsible design.
