Acne’s latest capsule collection is a tribute to the late-great Texan guitarist Johnny Winter.
Not only responsible for kick starting the blues-rock revolution of the late sixties and early seventies, Winter also played muse to Acne Studios Creative Director Johnny Johansson.
In an ode to the red-eyed legend, the brand has released a capsule indicative of Winter’s idiosyncratic style; cowboy shirts, velvet trousers and prom style ruffles flood the twenty-three piece collection.
Pulled almost directly from his legendary 1959 Woodstock performance, a pale skinned, bleached, longhaired model sports a star pin necklace and white cowboy boots throughout.
Texan blues fans and avid Western fashionistas alike would be remiss to lose out on the monogrammed jeans, and bold prints of Johnny’s face and profile.
Alongside the capsule, one-off collector’s items from his personal archive are available to purchase at acnestudios.com. Proceeds from sales will go directly to the Johnny Winter Foundation for the Arts, a charity dedicated to Winter’s life and legacy.
