Danger Mouse Album Plans

Producer ropes in all star cast

Hip hop super-producer Danger Mouse has been working on his new album which could feature members of The Strokes, The Shins, Pixies and many more.

Danger Mouse is a renowned producer but also works as one half of record breaking duo Gnarls Barkley. The musician has earned a reputation as a workaholic due to his back breaking schedule, spending last year working on albums with the likes of The Shortwave Set and The Black Keys.

However it seems that Danger Mouse is now ready to go solo. The producer has been working with the group Sparklehorse, and the two have sent fans a cryptic message about their new album.

Neither Danger Mouse nor Sparklehorse mainman Mark Linous have spoken publicly of the project, but a new poster announcing the album was given to bloggers yesterday (March 31st).

The album is set to be called ‘Dark Night Of The Soul’ and is due to be released later this year. It is now known what the material will sound like, but the poster states the following will guest star on the album:

Black Francis (Pixies)
Julian Casablancas (The Strokes)
Vic Chesnutt
The Flaming Lips
Jason Lytle (formerly of Grandaddy)
James Mercer (The Shins)
Nina Persson (The Cardigans)
Iggy Pop
Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals)
Suzanne Vega

Nina Persson has previously worked with Mark Linous on her A Camp project. No other information is given about the project, other than a possible release over the summer.

A newly-launched website at Dnots.com simply says “Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse, coming soon”.
