Woody Guthrie Competition

One of the founding fathers of American folk music, Woody Guthrie has inspired some of the greatest songwriters alive today.

Bob Dylan was an early devotee of the dust bowl rambler, writing 'Song To Woody' in his honour. Bruce Springsteen is also a fan, covering many folk favourites on his 'Seeger Sessions' album recently.

However our impression of the singer was recently turned upside down by the discovery of a number of rare acetates. Containing Woody Guthrie's original recordings these contain many never before heard tracks.

Now released as part of the box set 'My Dusty Road' the collection is something to behold. Containing four CDs, a book outlining the folk hero's life and much more the whole box set is contained in a miniature suitcase.
