From originator to future star; fans of instrumental hip-hop will delighted to see DJ Shadow and Sam Gellaitry sharing the stage at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre on April 18th.
Since his 1996 classic ‘Endtroducing…..’ - which the Guinness World Records book proclaimed the "First Completely Sampled Album" - San Jose’s DJ Shadow has continued to reinvent himself and keep his audience guessing. A pioneer of instrumental hip-hop, and a key figure in developing the sound of London’s Mo' Wax label, Shadow is known for his spellbinding live performances and has also collaborated with an eclectic range of musicians, including everyone from Run The Jewels to Thom Yorke.
From his bedroom in Stirling, Scotland, prodigious producer Sam Gellaitry has been building a name for himself with his futuristic instrumentals, which are equal parts experimental and club ready. By the age of 18, Sam had already released EPs with prestigious London label XL Recordings and Los Angeles’ Soulection, and is currently preparing to release the third instalment of his critically-acclaimed ‘Escapism’ series.
We have one pair of tickets to give away to one Clash reader. To win, tell us the name of DJ Shadow’s classic debut album.
