Violet Fields Stake A Claim With ‘Memories’

Psych-addled pop with an early 90s steak...

Violet Fields have always harboured a deep Anglophone streak.

Initially based in Berlin, the pair rejected the city's techno advances for a deeply held love of Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd, or even Britpop's wit and bombast.

Recently moving to London, Violet Fields took a present with them: new single 'Memories'.

Taken from incoming EP 'Blooms', it was recorded at Funkhaus studios in Berlin, and it's a fever dream that dwells on psychedelic pop tones.

Urging that it's "better to dream than to fade away" the guitars seem to dissolve into air, while the delicious pop vocal has a bublegum after-taste.

Taymor Wily shot the video on location in Berlin, and it's a superbly cool document of timeless cool.
