Most bands have a reggae song somewhere in their back catalogue.
For some, it's a rite of passage. However few have taken the steps that Snoop Dogg has in order to embrace Jamaican culture.
Earlier this year the rapper unveiled his new alter ego - Snoop Lion is a rejuvenated vision, matching Dancehall stars against Major Lazer's production. Prompting furious debate, members of the Rastafarian community recently hit out at the rapper.
Now Bob Marley's son Rohan Marley has revealed that he believes his father would have welcomed the re-incarnation. “Our father’s name should not even be mentioned in this issue because like a true Rasta, he would have embraced Snoop’s reincarnation and welcomed the positivity" he told TMZ. "Why condemn a man for his love of Rastafari and Bob Marley? We have been cool with Snoop before his transformation and he will continue to have our blessings and support.”
'Reincarnated' is a new film which follows Snoop Lion on his path, constructing the studio album of the same name. A new trailer appeared online earlier today - watch it now.
