Swinging back the rootsy sounds of South London, 17 year-old Rainy Milo releases the video for third single ‘Bankrobber’. The track is a cover of The Clash’s 1980 single with a Milo mix of rough sultry vocals and R&B influences.
Rainy was set on making the track her own, and comments, “I wanted to try cutting that record with a Rainy Milo twist and when I did it for fun everyone reacted so strongly I decided to put it on the record and make a video for it.”
Born and raised with her Guyanese mother and British father, her honeyed soul vocals and personal lyrics about life and London are distinctively unique and honest as shown in her debut release ‘Bout You’. With her blonde dip-dye hair and striking beauty, there’s an indefinite cool about the way Rainy holds herself when singing. Hopefully more releases will be coming this summer from this new UK alternative R&B artist but for now, here’s ‘Bankrobber’.
Watch it now.
