With its infinite streets, ever evolving boroughs and enormous array of culture, London is almost impossible to sum up in one sound, one song.
But Subculture Sage are giving it a good go. Growing up in the capital, the group absorbed the sounds, the languages all around them and are allowing this to filter through in their music.
There's a soft reggae skank mixed with an indie sensibility, a drum 'n' bass percussive kick matched to a soulful house vibe. In short: it sounds like London.
Working with Twisted Hearts, the duo's debut EP is set to be released later this Spring. Ahead of this, Clash is able to premiere the video for new cut 'Madness'.
Directed by Justin Hackney, it's a cut 'n' paste fusion of memories, moments which ultimately focusses on the capital.
For Subculture Sage, it seems, the further you travel the closer you get to home.
Watch it now.
