Electronic pop from Norway with a sci-fi slant...
Sgrow

Sgrow began life in Norway, before a change in circumstance took the duo to the Canadian city of Toronto.

Both areas have lengthy, deep winters, and there's a sense of that icy chill in their music, in the sub zero production and frosted melodies.

Constructing a series of mini-albums, the first of these - 'Circumstance' - arrives on November 10th, with Clash able to share new cut 'Kismet'.

Dreamy electronics with a sci-fi slant, the pair's off kilter melodies combine to push the track to some intriguing places.

Sgrow explain:

'Kismet' is about dealing with the development of events beyond one’s control and somehow managing to remain calm and focused while being forced to step into the unknown. It’s about accepting change and letting go, and sort of embracing a new persona and a new reality. 'Kismet' is our take on a ballad, dreamy, ambient and intense, with hints of techno elements thrown in.

We watched a lot of sci-fi films in Toronto while producing this particular track, which may have had an influence on the soundscape. All of the instruments are created using our own field recordings and samples of our previous live shows, with the exception of the 808 and Gabber style bass drums in the track's climax.

Tune in now.
