Premiere: Prince Vaseline – ‘On An Island’

Forthcoming on Love Thy Neighbour...

Prince Vaseline was formed almost on a whim.

Max Erle and Snowy Mountain formed the project, after both decided that Max's home demos simply needed further exploration.

The group has grown to absorb Evan Reinhold, formally of the band Vile Imbeciles, on percussion and Marc Beatty of Brakes on bass, with an EP forthcoming on Love Thy Neighbour.

New EP 'On An Island' arrives on September 30th, with the material all being laid down within three takes. Prince Vaseline explain: "We recorded with Matthew Twaites of Electric Soft Parade in his studio in North London over three days. The song came from demos we had made immediately following our previous release, ‘A Naturally Coloured Pleasure’ and explores a darker, more fuzz-laden sound. We've started to explore using a drum machine as well, which added an extra layer to the song."

Clash is able to air the video for title cut 'On An Island', and the chugging, discordant, at times almost psychedelic vibes are set against bleeding colour.
